Methodology

How facts are established

Every comparison-critical fact on this site traces to a dated source. Vendor marketing copy is a source for what a vendor claims — never for what is true. Where a fact cannot be established from a public source, it is recorded as Not established, and it is never rendered as "no".

Each fact can carry:

  • a source URL and source title
  • the date it was checked
  • an evidence type (vendor site, regulator, ABR, review, test, report, certification)
  • a verification status: verified from public source, vendor confirmed, independently checked, partial/conditional, not established, or confirmed unavailable
  • the reviewer, a note, and a recheck date

Unknown is honest

A capability marked unknown means we could not establish it — not that the product lacks it, and not that it has it. We never infer a capability from the product category, and we record limitations with the same care as capabilities.

Match scores

The finder compares the needs you select against each offering's established capabilities using a deterministic, transparent formula:

  • Each need you select maps to a tracked capability
  • A need counts as matched only where the capability is established as present
  • A need whose capability is not established is surfaced as "needs confirmation" — never counted as absent
  • Alignment is the share of your selected needs that match, shown as a percentage with the reasons and open checks beside it

A score measures fit against your requirements. It is not a compliance score, not a certification, and not legal advice. The same formula applies to every offering — no provider-specific scoring exists, and a test enforces that.

Organic ranking is separate from paid placement

Sponsored providers appear in clearly labelled Sponsored or Featured Partner slots. Paid placement never changes a match score and never changes organic rankings. Payment buys marketplace capability and exposure — it cannot buy facts.

Data freshness

Pricing is re-checked frequently, promotions are expiry-driven, features are re-checked periodically, and company identity is re-checked less often. Every provider page shows when its data was last reviewed.
